IES San Francisco will offer a study group this year to help understand the NCQLP Lighting Certification Exam scheduled for Saturday, 7 November 2020 (in "Oakland", typically Walnut Creek or Concord), and to share students' professional lighting expertise and reference materials.

This course will meet over the 7 weeks prior to the exam on Wednesday evenings.  It will at least start as Zoom meetings and we will e-mail log-in details to all registrants before each session.  If the pandemic permits, we will move to  the Pacific Energy Center (851 Howard St., San Francisco 94103) but at this time if and when we can meet in person is unknown.  The format of the LC Prep Course is informal, with seminar-style discussions. Study facilitators Amol Shenoy, LC, James Donson, LC and Larry Ayers, LC will lead the group discussions and organize the study process.

BE SURE TO APPLY BY 21 SEPTEMBER DIRECTLY WITH NCQLP TO TAKE THE EXAM!

This course does NOT include test registration! Note that application for the Exam may take a few days to acquire reference letters (and possibly a college transcript) and that early registration (by 18 August) has lower exam fees.

The key reference for this exam is the IES Handbook (10th Edition, bound or computer file). We will have copies of reference publications available to share during our meetings. We also have a few of copies of lighting textbooks you can borrow if you need to refresh your lighting basics. We will share with each participant a number of references and background materials we have accumulated over our years presenting this course.
