This class, held on eight Wednesday evenings (and one Tuesday, due to a holiday), is a joint IES San Francisco and Pacific Energy Center (PEC) class that is a great technical intro to lighting for those entering the lighting fields, including designers, sales people, energy specialists, contractors and specifiers.  

Each approximately 3-hour module covers a different aspect of lighting, and is taught by an industry professional. The PEC is coordinating instruction and teachers, hosting the webinars, and providing class materials. Topics include lighting characteristics such as color and properties of light; metrics for measuring light and energy efficiency; vision; daylighting; light sources, fixtures and controls; calculations; and lighting applications. Registration is limited.
