LC Prep Course Fall 2024 by IES SF

IES San Francisco is offering a study group again this year to help understand the NCQLP Lighting Certification Exam scheduled for 14 October through 22 November 2024, and to share students’ professional lighting expertise and reference materials. Due to the large range of testing dates we’re starting earlier in September than most years.

The LC Prep Course has an informal format, with seminar-style discussions. This 7-week course will meet online by Zoom. We do not expect to hold any in-person session.

Wednesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

September 11, 2024 – October 23, 2024

Location: Zoom meetings at your location of choice.

Fee: $350 per person

(Fees non-refundable for cancellations & no-shows)

REGISTER FOR THIS COURSE BY SEPTEMBER 1 SO IES HAS TIME TO GIVE CLASS ACCESS TO THE LIGHTING LIBRARY

Test application deadline and qualifications for LC are listed at the NCQLP website in their Candidate Handbook. Please download this key document at your earliest opportunity to review details of the exam and the requirements to sit for it.

BE SURE TO APPLY BY SEPTEMBER 13 DIRECTLY WITH NCQLP TO TAKE THE EXAM!

This course does NOT include exam registration! Note that application for the Exam may take a few days to acquire reference letters (and possibly a college transcript). Early application for the exam by 2 August has a lower application fee.

A key reference for this exam is the IES Lighting Library, including sections about Lighting Applications, Lighting Practice, Lighting Science and Roadway & Parking Lot Lighting. We will have these reference materials accessible by our participants throughout the duration of our course, but note we must have each participant registered for this course by 1 September so we can submit your registration details to IES Headquarters a week before the start of the LC Prep course. We also have versions of some other key references available, such as ASHRAE/IES 90.1. We’ll share with each participant reference and background materials we accumulated over the years.
