JOB TITLE: Lighting Designer
Location: San Francisco, CA

 

The person in this position will provide creative and production support to the Company’s team of designers. This person must be self-motivated, extremely organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task on a variety of projects on short notice. The person must have good verbal, written, communication and problem solving skills. Looking for someone that is able to take direction but also prepare design projects with little supervision while working well with others. Friendly personality, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills to work in a creative and collaborative design studio environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Architectural lighting design
  • Concept graphics and visual image presentations
  • Project management
  • Project drafting
  • Lighting fixture research
  • Photometric calculation studies
  • Equipment pricing research
  • Document control
  • Assistance with onsite reviews, mockups, focus aiming, lighting programming

Education and Skills Requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications

·         Formal training in lighting design, theatre production, architecture, or interior design is required

·         Minimum 2 years in an architectural lighting design consultancy is ideal

·         Must be fully eligible to work in the United States

·         Must have reliable transportation and live within reasonable (45 minute) commute of the studio.

·         Fluency in English (verbal and written).

Desired Qualifications

·         Very proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, AGI

·         Strong knowledge of Revit

·         Advanced level in Word, Excel, Acrobat

·         Solid experience with all Adobe Creative Suite programs

·         Experience with Sketch Up (advantageous, but not mandatory)

·         Experience with lighting control systems is a plus
