The second of two Master Series programs in our 2017-2018 season, IES San Francisco Section is proud to present Master Lighting Designer Randall Whitehead. In this session, Randall shows how LEDs are ready for prime time in the most demanding applications- residential kitchens and baths, and despite some quality issues in the past now give us more creative freedom than ever before to deliver beautiful light in our homes. He will also show how the recent focus on LED technology has only served to make the fundamentals of lighting more important- designing with light layers, creating a whole lighting environment. paying attention to illuminiting vertical surfaces, eliminating glare, and high color rendering. Randall has a unique sense for how people fail (and learn) through lighting mistakes, and presents a hilarious and insightful romp through interior spaces good, bad, exquisite, and mystifying, while sharing some of his top picks in recent products.

One of the first lighting designers to embrace LED technology, author, designer, innovator, and lecturer Randall Whitehead is America's top expert in residential lighting. He has drawn upon his experience from over thirty years of consulting practice to develop a unique and comprehensive body of knowledge about lighting and how it affects us everywhere we live and work. Randall has appeared many times as a guest expert on The Discovery Channel, HGTV, and CNNfn. He has developed an extensive series of seminars on lighting design and has produced them throughout the United States, Canada and South America.
