IES SF Master Series brings the top lighting practitioners in the world to our local design community for more intimate conversations and dialog about lighting practice. This year we present an evening with internationally recognized Lighting Designer Michael Souter, one of the original Bay Area lighting designers. Michael will describe how and why he got into the lighting business and will talk about his mentor, David Winfield Willson, who he feels had a great understanding of the interplay of light and shadow. Michael will show us how Willson inspired and influenced his work and will illustrate how he has applied what he sees in nature to lighting design.
