Electric light may benefit or disrupt our natural rhythms and alter our relationship with natural light. Circadian Rhythm is the human body clock that operates critical functions including the production of hormones that influence our overall functionality in key areas including: Sleep; Alertness; Cognition; Metabolism; and Performance. This half-day class will follow how light may improve health through circadian entrainment with everyday lighting. We will dive into the underlying science as well as techniques to take advantage of these findings. Along with specific applications of these techniques, we will provide insight into existing standards in the industry. Attendees should leave this class with the ability to determine appropriate applications for circadian lighting and the ability to deploy the scientific foundation to communicate the importance of circadian lighting to clients and colleagues.
